Oi,dude,there was one good suggestion b4,that u ignored: scalp it The old Optys and FX are not soldered and use TIM under IHS,the best solutionis scalp and replace TIM with good nowaday paste or mod cpu for direct die cooling. Cheers!

Done some quick compatibility tests on top end 2005 A64FX build,so far so good,but fancy asus hsf might go away. Haven't Oc'd yet.

I got this machine,one with 370skt Tualeron,running it with gf2 mx400 pci no probs,if i was you i might go for gt520 first,as for more powerfull gpu that also brings new outputs,tho fx5500 pci also fine to get.

Imo - its kinda pointless because.... hmm no vista exclusives? As was said you can use w7 for that era games compatability on modern hardware,tho c2d still capable as lowend for moden games,which means its not retro. But for such build no need of bottlenecking c2d too... well except period …

Today was day of testing,besides stuff from "bought oldware today" thread i finally managed to test my ZX spectrum clone. So far i stuck on this,insides looks good,so i blame faulty av cable,powering on - so far so good 😀

What's making older DX 9 and 10 cards collectable now? I would say that TheAbandonwareGuy correctly compared it with v5 5500,that it is more close to the desire to assemble the top system or to have the top hardware, which it was at the time of its release.But for example you wasted or missed it …

Not bought but exchanged this time: A Sapphire Radeon HD 2900 XT 512mb gddr3 It's powerful,neat,fancy and.... it's dead Not a big deal cuz i traded it for 120mm fan,anyway still possible for repairs or donorship
