still having problems with motherboard, only this time its ram. when I reseat the ram, something run the entire 128mb. Other times it will hit around 86~87mb then jump to the 128mb. tried three sticks (all edo). As of now it will read all ram but when I try to go to bios, it freezes I am at my wits …

question, on a 430hx motherboard, does it matter where the hdd goes. I tried to put it on the secondary channel and won't auto detect(but will if done manually). it will pick up my dvd drive on that channel with no issues. tried the other channel and auto detects just fine. Is it just picky?

NEVER plug a connector in a header in a Socket 7 (or older) board without triple-checking the pinout. There were no standards for those, and odds are you shorted the ground or VCC with something. Hopefully you didn't fry anything important. Do AT keyboards still work or are you trying to use an USB …

been a little while. the good news is now the board does post but found bios is at 2.5. also I tried to but a USB connector near the at keyboard connector and noticed it smoking near the at keyboard. board will still post however. I tried to use a USB card but it doesn't let me use keyboard. if only …

never heard of number9 sounds interesting. I'll look in it. After looking in to it i went with the number 9 card. Hopefully will go well with the voodoo 2 card.

do you think I should get a g200 or g400? also looking into the ati mach series but if I get one of the isa ones would that hurt the voodoo passthough? For those haven't seen at build (my very first thread) I am going to run a pentium mmx on it

hello everyone, I am still looking for a good 2d card and I believe the matrox chip might be the best choice based on info here on other posts. is this a good card to couple with the voodoo card?

new issue: I recently got the ga586hx. when I put in the mmx 233 in all I get is continuous short beeps. I then took it out and put in a 200 non mmx in and gave me the ram error(this is due of not getting two edo sticks in pair so I found out so non issue as of now) I thinking its problem outdated …

I would get a voodoo 1 but those things are around 75 dollars or highers. I just now saw one for roughly 22 dollars. it has 4mb or v ram it that good enough almost anything in the 90s.
