Re: DOSBox-X branch

Does the IDE support exist in patch/diff format anywhere? I cannot really find any mention of it anywhere on the net other than chatter within some threads about one or two of the forks. Additionally, core command-line features appear to be different for DOSBox-X. Can it not run programs directly …

Re: Tutorial: dosbox with Glide under Linux

@Yesterplay80: Which GLIDE2X.OVL should be used with this patch? EDIT: glide2x_emu.ovl renamed to glide2x.ovl seems to work. Albeit with lots of mode switching but that seems normal for the game. On that note, is there any way to keep scaling in play when using this? i.e. the way DOSBox normally …

Re: PCEm. Another PC emulator.

Ok, so I got it built and working on Linux, that's all fine. What's missing is there's no menu bar (i.e. the File, Settings, toolbar). Is there a special key combination needed to make this appear?

Re: PCEm. Another PC emulator.

I'm not sure how to better explain this, but it should be apparent to anyone that has used Linux. On Linux, programs are typically installed with their respective bits and pieces in the respective folders which are tracked by the package manager, e.g. the executables go into /usr/bin, libraries go …

Re: PCEm. Another PC emulator.

This was mentioned earlier in the thread but the answer given didn't make any sense so I'll ask again and hopefully get some clarification. Where does PCEM look for the system "roms" on Linux? Programs aren't installed to their own folders on Linux so "in the pcem folder" wouldn't make sense. I'd …

Re: DOSBox enhanced -> DOSBox ECE

Yesterplay80 wrote: Enverex wrote: Did you get the Fluidsynth driver working in the end? Nope. Just as an update, I did get this working in the end. Ended up managing to combine Fluidsynth, Munt32, Glide, OpenGL shaders and a quicker startup patch together successfully to current SVN.

Hired Guns - Slowdown on OpenGLNb (vs Surface)

DOSBox has run pretty flawlessly for me in every game I've tried, bar one and only in a specific situation. Hired Guns screen-wipe effect. For some reason, when the game does its screen-wipe/text-clear effect on the menu, DOSBox slows right down to the point where the audio stutters. Here's a video …

Re: MT32 and General MIDI?

gdjacobs: This is Linux, but it's purely controller based so GUI tools for things like that wouldn't be much help, it all needs to be handled by scripts "under the hood". That said, many DOS games need a keyboard/mouse anyway... but I digress. konc: That's interesting, I didn't realise you could …

Re: DOSBox SVN Builds

Did you get the Fluidsynth driver working in the end? The one linked here - http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=27831&start=20 - tries to patch files that no-longer exist in SVN. Oddly enough the earlier patch does apply fine but seems to ignore settings as it complains about JACK despite the …

Re: MT32 and General MIDI?

Yeah, looks like that'll be what I do. Use a wrapper that loads my general config and have a switch I can pass to the wrapper for any games that need MT32 (and then expand the switches in future if I run into any other special-use cases for other "needs X instead" situations). The only reason I …

Re: MT32 and General MIDI?

That's really easy. You just have different DOSBox config files for each game and configure it that way. I'm sure the readme file / manual covers this. But you can also use a GOG game as an example, every game uses its own config file. That's easy in the literal sense, but not easy in that rather …

MT32 and General MIDI?

So I have MT-32 support patched in (i.e. native MUNT) which works great. I also have a normal MIDI setup on the machine which works fine. My problem comes from the fact that some DOS games can do MT32, others are general MIDI (and others are just terrible or OPL based). Anyway, the issue is that …
