Re: Asus TUSL-L

So, decided to update the BIOS anyway as was having some random errors in Windows and found out the latest version can boot from CD which is quite rare and useful for a Pentium 1 board. Worked a treat - now has the latest Intel BIOS and it can boot from the Win98 CD. Cool! I'm glad I could help you …

Re: Asus TUSL-L

The only pitfall is the BIOS, which has an OEM specific version number and the Intel tool won't let me flash the standard Intel BIOS, so you may run into that issue with your HP board. This can usually be circumvented using the BIOS recovery jumper (if available) and booting up with the prepared …

Re: MIDI THRU vs MIDI OUT

I just thought of something... If I have my UM-550 connected to 5 sound modules and those 5 had MIDI THRU jacks on them could I add another 5 for a total of 10 active or would that blow up my UM-550? The UM-550 doesn't care what happens behind it. It just receives the MIDI signal from up to five …

But I thought this was way too much money for the little I would possibly do with it. So I passed. A part of me always regretted that, of course ;-) …

Re: Pentium 133 build

- Intel 'Marl' Advanced/ML ATX motherboard (430HX) That's a great motherboard! I have one too, with a Pentium 200MHz in it, and 2x 32MB EDO. It has a very long MTBF (over 100,000h!) and a really good HDD detection. I could boot MS-DOS 6.22 from a 60GB SSD (with S-ATA to IDE converter) without …

Re: "Outrigger" OR840 build

I like it! I prefer modern cases too, the superior cooling and cable management capabilities are a big plus in my books. And if the case is good looking (that's highly subjective of course), then why not? I do like the Fractal Design cases which look similar. I have used the Define R5 for three of …
