Hitman Contracts Missing Waterfall Effect

Back when Hitman Contracts was still a new game, there was this impressive effect that projected next to agent 47 showing the rain coming down the window. In this thread https://www.hitmanforum.com/t/rain-effects-missing/16209, they say it worked on the GeForce 4 series card but on modern hardware …

Re: Delta Force 2

Do you plan on revisiting the issue? I think with certain chipsets and drivers this game worked to an extent as I remember. I know the ATI Rage Fury chipsets, and Nvidia TNT/TNT2 chipsets were known to work with this game in Direct3D 6 using 32-bit color rendering exclusively. However, I don't …

Re: Delta Force 2 Broken 3D Acceleration

in Windows
So the same guy that wrote dgVoodoo released a partial fix for 3D acceleration https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=52136. Not perfect but progress to say the least. The terrain will still partially show through the 3D objects, and the fog doesn't blend with 3D objects (seems like a game bug …

Re: Delta Force 2

I'm posting about it before I forget to (last week I had a look at it): Your wrapper is probably the best thing I've come across for retro gaming on Windows 10 as I've gotten every game I tested on it to work! I have one game called Delta Force 2 and it has support for both software rendering and …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Hey Dege, can you also do something for SC:DA's translucent/refracting ice and HDR. Either one of them exists on the PC. Ice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhGZk3UJybM 2:38 HDR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv8PnaKNsvc 0:42 Thanks SCDA was a buggy PC port, to begin with (even buggier than …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I can show you how bad SC2 was ported to PS3. :)) Really? I got the trilogy a week ago for 5 bucks in the Store and i thought it was good stuff. Quality wise, the SC3 port is at Komat level fix. You can check my detailed report here: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=41443&hilit=komat&start …

Re: Delta Force 2 Broken 3D Acceleration

in Windows
I am not too sure if it will fix the issues you are talking about but have you tried DgVoodoo2 Directx Wrapper? http://dege.freeweb.hu/ As well as emulating the old D3D it can also emulate Glide, enabling you to play games in this mode as well. What you do once it is downloaded is copy all the dlls …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Your wrapper is probably the best thing I've come across for retro gaming on Windows 10 as I've gotten every game I tested on it to work! I have one game called Delta Force 2 and it has support for both software rendering and semi-hardware rendering. The thing is that in hardware mode the objects …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Here's a good video showing what the light beams should look like in Splinter Cell. Not sure what GF4 chipset it was tested on but it's really thinner and there are more beams. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0UAK9u_A3M I also saw a video of the oil refinery level in Splinter Cell using a GF4 …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I've noticed the light beams in Splinter Cell 1 look like the ones used in projector mode even though the shadows in shadow buffer mode works. Here are some images of what I mean. The thicker beams are being done using dgVoodoo and the regular ones are done natively in shadow buffer mode.

Re: Delta Force 2 Broken 3D Acceleration

in Windows
That's how it was designed, and this was a big often complained about thing in the day that the D3D acceleration didn't accelerate Voxelspace's voxels, so there's a lack of depth testing. Yeah, I heard someone mention that if you can force the z-buffer or something to use 16-bit instead of 32-bit …

Delta Force 2 Broken 3D Acceleration

in Windows
I have an old copy Delta Force 2 and am wondering if anyone has managed to get the game to function properly under Direct3D mode (full-screen hardware renderer)? I don't believe that such a game can pass testing with all these problems such as objects being rendered in D3D and them being visible …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

PS. It would be nice if there was an option to use either hard or soft shadows in when the game is using shadow buffer mode such as in Splinter Cell :) ???? A DX6 game???? No, I meant for a game such as Splinter Cell it would be nice if there was an option to use the hard or soft PCF shadows for …
