NT/2K/XP doesn't use the same drive letter conventions as Windows 98. If you unplug the first drive and install Windows 2000 on the second drive without the first drive being plugged in, Windows 2K will think it's running from drive C. will try tomorrow and the sound card that was in before was my soundblaster pro 2 and no issues except for a couple of games where the sound went garbled but try those games that did that on old sound card on awe64 and the sound isn't garbled

no nothing doom 1 & 2 - no fm but there is sfx wolf3d - detects soundblaster but no fm but there is sfx commander Keen 5 & 6 - detects soundblaster but no fm when try quake 1 - the sfx sound is heard but the cd audio is heard with cd audio cable plugged in to card
