Have you tried a boot manager? Not sure which one, but i've used the Ranish Partition Manager one (quite spartan) and XOSL (GUI) - at least one of them could set the drive number returned by INT 13 to 0x80 for the drive which you have chosen to boot. Or maybe was it the motherboard built in boot …

NT/2K/XP doesn't use the same drive letter conventions as Windows 98. If you unplug the first drive and install Windows 2000 on the second drive without the first drive being plugged in, Windows 2K will think it's running from drive C. wav files I am nae fussed but mainly so I can play games like doom and all that, that has midi background music with my sb pro 2 had no problems but also able to play games where it had problems where the sound became garbled which the awe64 fixed If the AWE fixed the garbled sound, maybe those …

if anyone has any other idea a good sb16 card that will work with midi and fm etc with no issues on pentium 1 machine with dos 6.22/windows 3.11 and windows 95 and also has ide cd rom audio cable interface and be able to plug my gamepad

will try tomorrow and the sound card that was in before was my soundblaster pro 2 and no issues except for a couple of games where the sound went garbled but try those games that did that on old sound card on awe64 and the sound isn't garbled

no nothing doom 1 & 2 - no fm but there is sfx wolf3d - detects soundblaster but no fm but there is sfx commander Keen 5 & 6 - detects soundblaster but no fm when try quake 1 - the sfx sound is heard but the cd audio is heard with cd audio cable plugged in to card
