its impossible to put a pci card on an agp slot :v im not that stupid! jokes aside: it was an union trident providia 9685 (the one with 6 sockets for the memory chips)

well, the card works WONDERFUL on xp, it even unlocks and overclocks like a monster, from 275 core 266 mem(532) to 425/400(800) and 8pp/3vp to full 16pp/6vp.

the mother died, i was trying a pci video card and some smoke came from the port, ill try an asrock k8upgrade vm800.

maybe its because i have more than 512mb combined memory? (512 system 256 videocard, it sounds silly)

vga or dvi it doesnt matter, no signal, safemode works with no problems, if its the driver im screwed since its the only one for windows 98 for 6 series, ill try the card on windows xp (i think i already tried on a 462 system and it worked)

ill try using the sata disk with an adapter to ide and p-ata only on the bios

bought a p5ld2-se rev2.04, its almost exactly to the non-se minus the sound codec*, lan chip and 2 usb less. *i might have to buy a sound blaster live! because theres no drivers for the ADI1986A for windows 98

maybe its limited by the phases/consumption (up to 95w)? have you tried a high fsb and low multiplier oc?

recently i bought a box full of old hardware (some good pieces, some regular) and found a voodoo 3 agp but upon some close up inspection i found that has 2 components burned, can be repaired?

thanks for the quick reply. my goal is to use 3 systems on this machine, w98, xp and 7, thats why i needed core 2 duo support (that and the low consumption), about the id, its the same if i get it on w7?
