I ran some more benchmarks on the G400 with high textures in quake3. To see if the slowdown bug is caused by the OS or hardware. All the tests were done with the highest textures (r_picmip=0), 32bit colour, 32bit textures. I ran them all on the same P3 I did the other windows 98 tests on. P3@1GHz …

honestly its a shame I don't have a BGA rework station, my Quadro FX3000 is dead because i cracked a memory IC, but if i had one and a mask I could just transplant it's 2.2NS Ram onto the 9800, and swap the bios to a 9800 Pro with hynix instead of samsung ram Don't be so sure, the 9800 you got may …

ATI Rage 128 and Radeon are great competitors against their contemporaries (TNT2 and GF256) and in my opinion very interesting choices for retro builds. Rage 128 has poor texture filtering, however. Oh I do own and use a Mystique 220 4MB in my K6-2 SLI PC, I think it is the best period correct 2D card for <=1998 systems. I just LOVE that card to bits.
