Well, I suppose there is no point left in actually using it in a build, it has worse DOS compatibility than an S3 Trio, and no 2D advantage over later Matrox PCI cards such as the Mystique/Millennium II/G100/G200?

I would suggest looking into getting an AM3 Athlon II or Phenom II Pc as a cheap replacement for that Core, they are fairly comparavle to 1st gen Corei

I use the millennium in my socket 7 machine by the way, good card. Don't use it much in dos though. I also happen to have one but never used it. I have a Mystique 220 in my K6-2 SLI Win98SE build and an S3 Trio in my P133 DOS build. How is its DOS compatibility? It probably has great Win3.x drivers …

The Banshee is the right choşce unless you are trying semi crazy things like running say GTA3 on a K6-2.. The 9250 is best suited for non AGP P3 systems like i810 and PLE133/T etc in my opinion..

It seems to be some weird proprietary form factor.. works with AT PSU for certain. That of course is the case with the above ebay listing as well, now that I notice.. The ebay listing actually does not use an AT PSU, it's a proprietary AT + 6pin..

I realize that ATX standart came about long after 486's heyday, but there were a lot of 486 boards still in production throughout the Socket 7 era, so I was wondering, has anyone produced ATX 486 boards?
