benchmark in games with and without, synthetic tests are mostly useless for this (small static test loops)

FPM is slower ram, no point going slower.

Manufacturers of heavy machinery/home appliance equipment treat capacitors as standard wear part. In PCs whole power supply becomes that wear part 😀

Capacitors are consumables like ink printer cartridges. Nobody says 'OMG my belt grinder/press drill/aircon stopped turning on, time to throw it out and buy another one'. You replace start capacitor, mounted in easily accessible spot with convenient screw terminals, and move on with your life. …

I wonder where the thermistor connects. W83977TF doesnt have any analog inputs, there is another chip under BIOS, U2 - can you read its markings?

Thank you, these are a good start. In theory, there is enough real estate to toss in a small 3.3 reg. I did measure and that the crystal's peak output is 3.3v, so I might be able to get away with that. its the VCO IN that is more interesting and might be the main problem when substituting this part …

SBEMU works very well now on a MMX 233. The only issues are the sound not playing correctly . I wouldn't call "sound not playing correctly" as working very well. Since the whole point is to play sounds correctly... the question is does it play incorrectly because of CPU (game would be crawling …

Yeah I tried to tell you in that other thread Re: Voodoo locked at 640x480 monitor detection requires cable with all conductors and working I2C eprom in the monitor, but you can Force any monitor you want in settings and ignore all that.
