I bought this one second hand, just tried it for the first time with an e8400 and surprisingly enough it posts and even shows its an e8400. Will probably not run on full speed due to 1066fsb?

I'll keep my k6 and p3 for windows 98. For the faster machines i will use xp from now on which is even more period correct anyway 😀 Thanks for all the info!

Ah thanks, conclusion is I'm just using too modern hardware. I do recall trying windows 98 on a pentium 3 733mhz, voodoo2 sli and a creative live and I had no issues which confirms the above.

My cousin is coming over in a couple of weeks for some retro dos/98 gaming. We really love to play co-op games over LAN (duke3d) or multiplayer games where you can fight against bots (ut, bf1942). What are you favorite multiplayer and or coop games? Could be out of the box or by mods? Thanks

For the first time in my life I own a AWE64 (value) and im suprised how good it sounds, especially in build engine games. When I was a kid I owned a SB-16 clone and even after 25 years the difference is between night and day. I also bought a SC-55. Would it be an upgrade to use it for the music?

Was planning today to upgrade my 100 mhz fsb slot 1 machine to a slot 1 133 mhz fsb motherboard so the pentium 3 733 MHZ runs at full speed. Thanks for thinking with me. I have both versions of the serial bracket and one doesn't even fit so I'm quite sure I'm using the correct one. I'm really starting to believe the controller is broken.

I have run both and even swapped the connector around, tried a different one.. but all the time: Error: device not found. I spend too much time already 🙁
