I have liters of sewing machine but from my experience it is too thin and with time it just finds its way out of the bearing. The motor oil yielded better results for me. It is not a general rule. It does look really good. It's sad that it doesn't work 🙁 BTW I also use car motor oil while restoring fans, but I've read that it's better to use sewing machine oil.
