For the 30khz machines I got my self a HP 5500 15" CRT, it took me months to find some one actually selling a CRT rather then chucking them out. For the 15Khz machines I have a Commodore 1084S-D1 monitor (which is currently out being fixed).

With a bit of effort I finally got CGA (TTL RGBI mode) output from my PPC640 to VGA and displayed on my TV Its using a 128 Video DAC RGBI to RGBA which goes into a GBS-8220 which then goes to my TV https://imgur.com/a/Mhf3m

Was trying to connect my PPC640 to a monitor so I could get CGA video, and I've now learnt was RGBI is and why basic converters won't work and I need more hardware 🙁 I swear I've spent more money on extra parts for this machine then the machine its self.

I had issues with my pc speaker being too quiet so ended up routing it to the sound cards TAD connector, which worked nicely. So you might be able to do something similar.

I installed HxC on my Gotek over the weekend as the default firmware didn't like the PPC640, but HxC worked first great. It just took about 4 attempts to flash the box as I had to hold the Usb serial device at an odd angle to get it to work.

Spent yesterday cleaning and fixing up my PPC640, and flashed and fitted a Gotek with HxC firmware. I was hoping to leave the Gotek with the built in firmware but the machine wasn't able to read any of the disk images, but worked great with HxC.

I had similar issues where I could access the shares on the win98 machine but not the other way round and worked out that I needed to set one of my machines to be the "master browser". I enabled this on my NAS, but you should find it in the win98.

Spent ages trying to get the PC Speaker to sound louder (was playing commander keen) and in the end I routed the PC Speaker mobo pins to the TAD connector on the sound card so it now comes out my main speakers. Doesn't sound quite as authentic as the sound that would have echo'd around an old case …

I think it does support 98 (not sure if I could get drivers for the GPU), but I'm happy for the range of hardware and having the twin voodoo 2 cards is fun!

I used to play HL1 on a P133, with only 32mb of ram It did have a voodoo 1 card 😀 But it used to play much better then that video, as I completed it a few times and used to enjoy making maps as well.
