Re: MUS-1099 GameBlaster Sound Card

root42 wrote: Hm, The footprint of your jack looks wrong. I don't think it will fit... Sorry, I wasn’t clear... Yes, I know - they have different footprints... I don’t understand why those PCBs weren’t designed with a jack I pointed at - fits ISA bracket much better, I use it in my designs...

Re: MUS-1099 GameBlaster Sound Card

Scali wrote: It fits the PCB, but it is a bit 'low'... so the output is a bit close to the PCB, which means it is close to one side of the ISA slot. To be honest, I don’t understand why this style of a jack was used, the one I use fits ISA bracket perfectly...

If someone decides to produce and sell any of my projects, I give away all existing info for free and without …

Re: Sound-oriented universal 8-bit FPGA card

I don't see a transmitter chip for HDMI, I suppose it relies on bitbanged TMDS ? Max10 IO aren't terribly fast, I wonder what is the max resolution one can reach. Ideally one would output panel native resolution to avoid latency and bad scaling that most monitors seem to have with low res content …

Re: Sound-oriented universal 8-bit FPGA card

Ok, so you have a stencil and an oven... we can surely expect a bunch of those cards soon for us to buy? :) Sorry - it's just a hobby... And I have not tried to make a finished product - it's more about playing with a technology for test purposes... If someone really interested to make them, I …

Re: Sound-oriented universal 8-bit FPGA card

I was planning to make something similar but with one of the old MAX 7000 series CPLD devices. Unfortunately, MAX7000 or similar is very limited - good for things like an address decoder, data latches etc only. With "real" FPGA you can do A LOT of different things that impossible with basic CPLD... …

Sound-oriented universal 8-bit FPGA card

Slowly moving forward to my bigger project, found a need to do more experimenting. Something was done because of the need, something - just for fun, but at the end I made a more sound-oriented version of my universal (almost) 8-bit card: https://content-20.foto.my.mail.ru/mail/nastalk/59/b-73.jpg 1. …

Re: 8-bit sound card on FPGA

I use the world's simplest DAC (ONE resistor and ONE capacitor - that's all) to convert that digital one-bit signal to analog sound. That's interesting. Sounds like how the PC speaker circuit is constructed. How exactly do you drive this? You have a high-resolution timer? What frequency does it run …
