You'll probably find the 10GB HDD still wont work. 486's usually recognise 500MB or 8GB drives. My experience was similar so far. They usually support CHS and E-CHS (aka Large). LBA came a bit later to the party. It also helps to try period-correct cabling for trouble-shooting.. Like for example, …
