Re: What game are you playing now?

I played (and finished) Space Quest 1 EGA. It's interesting to see that at one point adventure games were short and to the point and most of all they didn't make you click through reams of inane dialogue options, or worse, listen to reams of inane dialogue being read by sub-par voice actors.

I'm not necessarily a purist, but Doom is just a bad example because seeing as there's a source port for modern systems, there's no need to run it in dosbox in the first place. The dos version, on the other hand, is really easy to run on an old machine too. No need to free up conventional memory …

It's interesting how you argue that the average person can't and, in fact, shouldn't be trusted with basic maintenance but yet still arrive at that conclusion. Maybe it's worth mentioning that in Germany, inspections are performed by inspection agencies and not garages. To most people, I think, the …

I'm currently in the middle of Quest for Glory I 's EGA version. I really like this iteration of the AGI and the graphics are just gorgeous to me. Great artwork, use of the EGA palette, particularly in the night scenes, and great animation. I only ever played the fourth installment back in the day, …

Halal markets are specialty stores that tend to cater to Canadian residents from south Asia. There's more variety of south Asian food and it tends to be fresher. I live in the middle of nowhere, so getting fresh pita bread at one is pretty much off the cards. Just call 1-800-PITA!!! No... seriously …

Mmmm.... That Turkish hot sauce sounds nice. :-P We actually have that role here in Denmark. It is called Dürum here, and can be ordered on nearly every pizza bakers all over the country. My favorite are the size of 36 centimeters in length and have a diameter of 10 centimeters. The bread is …

I love me some fresh Lahmacun for lunch. It's thin dough, topped with a mixture of beef/lamb, tomatoes, herbs and spices. You can eat it plain and drizzled with lemon juice (served with Turkish tea), or, my preferred mode, topped with salad, cucumber, tomato, yoghurt sauce and Turkish "hot sauce" (a …

Hmm. I did finish the first Dark Sun but I agree about the setting not proving too interesting. There's also just not that much story to go around, other than save the town by visiting destinations A, B and C. At one point in the game you meet this lizard character who tells you about his home …

I do all that myself.. I don't need the government to force me. And corrosion/rust is common, as we salt the roads in the winter. You can't find a car older than 1 year without rust on the undercarriage. Two of my cars wouldn't pass emissions testing anyway with the mods I have done to them, since …

Since I'm currently collecting Dark Sun miniatures, I'm also playing Dark Sun Shattered Lands again, as I do every year. But also hopefully finally getting around to finishing Dark Forces. I love Jedi Knight and bought it when it was released, but somehow I missed Dark Forces back then. Isn't the …

All those bugs made OFP an absolute blast in local multiplayer. We played this mainly to see what kind of glitches we could produce and what cracked-out stuff the AI would come up with this time around.

I just signed up with this car sharing scheme. They have one spot two minutes down the road from me that has several 2018 Ford Fiestas which are stick shifts, and there's another station maybe 6 minutes away that also has a 2018 Toyota Aygo automatic. The latter is really ideal for zipping around …

The Temple of Elemental Evil - (Party Turn based RPG) 2003. Ahh.. I keep meaning to return to this one and actually finish it! Afaik the original version of the game is very buggy, despite patches, so it is highly recommended to install the "Circle of Eight" fanmod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/ …

With my group of friends 1NSANE was a staple at lan parties for a good while. The single player is a fun experience too, though! I also really enjoyed Freedom Fighters as well. It's the kind of game that is competent enough and doesn't outstay its welcome by dragging on for four more levels after …
