My experience with Libretto 50/60/70 is that the LCD CCFL takes quite some time to warm up, a good 10 - 20 minutes especially on well used machines. Hold down ESC (or press repeatedly) until the menu for getting into the BIOS comes up pressing F1. Lastly, a HD is needed but any size will do - only …

Any of the Mini ITX VIA EPIA motherboards - EPIA 5000, EPIA 800, EPIA-M - all slow compared to anything else made in the era, but the most reliable and solid boards I've ever come across. Always found them a joy to configure and setup.

I've not really used DOS in a main machine for twenty years - switched to Mac in the end - but I'm surprised how well DOS commands are etched in my head. It's a pretty good OS.
