My computing area consists 5 computers: From left-to-right they are a laptop, my retro rig, a Raspberry Pi, a backup server, and my gaming PC. The left-side tower beside the laptop is empty, just there to hold up the shelf.

I installed two 256MB double-sided memory modules, and the motherboard now properly detects 524288MB. But Windows 98SE still hangs on install. Is it still too much memory, or could the problem be the IDE 133 card I'm using for the CF adapter? The motherboard only supports IDE 66.

That's very convincing. I'll look into it - though I'd have to get a 5.25 bracket for that since my case is kinda funny with the 3.5 drives. How about using CF cards in an IDE adapter on the front of your case? That's what i use to switch between DOS and Windows 98 in my build. Is a PCI card an option? PCI cards with PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports exist, sometimes with USB ports on there as well.

MegaTech's "Metal & lace" (1993) was available on CD instead of the original 8 floppies, not sure if the CD version was available from the start though. Their 1994 game 'Knights of Xentar' was on CD too.

Any PC100 or PC133 module can work at 66MHz (in PC66 mode). Theoretically they should just work, but it isn't necessarily going to work.
