Factory bodge wires are sold in new-in-box products. Usually new revisions are issued to correct it later.

Here's mine. Back in 2018 or so, I think I paid around $20 shipped for it, if I recall correctly. Great controller IMO. Button feel is pretty crisp, not too mushy. Analog sticks don't drift. The change in reliability came with the switch from Ta2O5 to f-tech. There are dozens of papers on it. F-tech eliminates crystalline inclusion flaws that caused failures because of manufacturing defects and chemical interaction.

Yea I saw that. It's pretty neat. It is designed in almost the exact layout as the 3-ISA and 4-ISA IPC cases.

If you look up the spec sheet of the RTC IC on the board, it will tell you what input voltages it cuts off at, both min and max. You'll also have to check to see if there are any diodes in circuit (which there usually are) to calculate any other voltage drops.

what do you need jhooks for? idea is to solder first pcb directly to motherboard, then solder second pcb to first one :) For the PLCC socket contact points. _ idea is to solder first pcb directly to motherboard_ Seems ghetto. I'd rather retain a socket for easy swapping of different IC's/adapters.

Tried that already. For the first one, I tried to source the j-hooks, but they can only be sourced in runs of $1000 or more. For the second link, you aren't getting that made cheap because it requires high end PCB fab. Those don't always make good contact with PLCC sockets either.
