I solved the Enhanced/Native Mode SATA issue for Windows 9x 10 years ago. I released an AHCI Driver for Windows 9x early last year. TRIM does not require AHCI. I wrote a TRIM Program for FAT32 that runs in DOS. It only runs in IDE Mode.
