Q6600 Was launched in '07. To answer your question, the first one with a different graphics card and XP on it could handle early 2000's games really great, and would be fun to mess around with. Q6600 would be great for ~10 year old games, albeit most of those work just fine on modern computers.

Main desktop is a 6600k overclocked to 4.5GHZ, EVGA Geforce 1080, 16GB Ram, 256GB Samsung 960 NVME SSD, and a 1TB harddrive. Corsair Air 240 for the case. I also have a HTPC with a G4560, a 750ti and a 120gb SSD for storage that I use for watching youtube/twitch/netflix/etc.

I'm playing through quake for the first time. Wasn't a huge pc gamer as a kid, so I'm going through all the "classics". Loving the level design and music, the game itself is very solid and the controls are fairly tight.

Really like the look at that front plate, very cool. I have a compaq presario with a cryix MII and I think its actually kind of nice, it just works for late dos/early windows games. I would probably recommend windows 98SE on that build but you do you.

I would try to find someone selling some on Geekhack/Deskthority. Maybe through up a WTB thread, especially if you have any other switches you're looking for. Alternatively, look on ebay for Blue alps boards for parts.
