Should the "directory = " line reflect this new folder? Is this new folder meant to be a clean installation of the game, without actually running the installer? I tried all that and even started a new game instead of restoring one but the game is still crashing when I try to enter Erana's Garden. :( …

I tried copying all files from the CD over to the game's directory, and modified the cfg file to look for files in the game's directory instead of the CD. Same problem still!

60k cycles? What CPU speed do you have? That's pretty high. My P4 2.8 only goes up to about 30k before maxing out usage. I'm gunna try one of the CVS builds to see if they help

Try balancing out the Frame Skipping and CPU Cycles until the sound stops skipping. On my P4 2.8ghz, I have cycles at 22500 and Frames at 5 with absolutely no sound skipping

I just noticed something now that I took the screenshot. If you look in the fifth line from the top, it mentions C:\AK.exe that file isn't there. I installed the game elsewhere and correctly mounted the drive. Btw I bought the Ultima Collection a while back so the game is an official re-release that …

I'm sorry I made a mistake. The problem is not from CWSDPMI. (I think I got confused with another post) The crash is totally different. Right after I type in the number to generate a character, the game just crashes with a lot of DOS "garbage" on the screen. I can take a screenshot and put it here …

I tried vdmsound, it crashes after the video with something like "not enough memory for email cursor" whatever the hell.. I can play it on DOSBox fine on low res. 640x400 is out of the question, any ideas on how to speed it up? It would be great to play it with better graphics 😀
