Re: FitzQuake on Windows 98/Voodoo 5

OK any future person looking for a fix for this, after some more digging I've found that any Fitzquake version >= .70 introduces a refresh rate setting that has a bug in windows 9x, where the refresh rate reads as 0 for all video modes and causes the game to update extremely slowly. Version .65 is …

Re: FitzQuake on Windows 98/Voodoo 5

Thank you for the list! I'll try out some of the others. Sorry for the confusing wording, I mostly mean to get overbright/fullbright support and fix the gamma. GLQuake just looks really off relative to software mode but I'd still love to use my voodoo 5 to accelerate it. I tried a Geforce 2 Ultra …

FitzQuake on Windows 98/Voodoo 5

Hey all, I'm trying to run a good source port of Quake that can look as close as possible to the software mode but use my Voodoo 5 5500 for acceleration. I believe FitzQuake is a good match for this so I'm trying to get it to run. Has anyone had any luck with this? When using the official 3DFX ICD …

Re: Gravis Ultrasound Max with HardMPU Issues

I haven't had GUS MAX for a long time so I can't test this anymore but GUS MAX has codec that requires ports of its own. I remember having some configuring problems as well. If I remember correctly setting the GUS MAX to 2x0h requires 3x0h to be available as well so if you have GUS MAX port set to …

Re: Gravis Ultrasound Max with HardMPU Issues

Some more info: I tried the GUS and HardMPU in a Pentium-120 system, and they had the same issue where the HardMPU won't work when the GUS is inserted. I then removed the HardMPU and tried my Awe64 Gold with the GUS Max, with these results: Doom works with the Awe64, without even initing the GUS …

Re: Gravis Ultrasound Max with HardMPU Issues

If I have time this evening I'll remove the GUS from the build (that currently contains the MMSN826 and AWE64 as well) and confirm it it's the cause of these issues. I'd be interested to know what happens with you, I can't be the only one experiencing this surely :) firstly, irq2 is a bad irq to …

Gravis Ultrasound Max with HardMPU Issues

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this or any ideas. I've been building my ultimate 486 machine. It currently has a Soundblaster 1.5 @ 220 IRQ 5 DMA 1 and a HardMPU @ IRQ2 330. Everything works fine using the HardMPU to run an SC-88 and MT …
