Re: SB Audigy SB0090 DOS support

Add the following line "Set CTSYN=c:\DOSDRV" without the quotation marks in your Autoexec.bat file BEFORE the line C:\DOSDRV\SBINIT.COM That is assuming that your Audigy Dos drivers are located in the directory c:\DOSDRV . Sbeinit.com wil then be able to find the CTSYN.INI file that holds the …

SB Audigy SB0090 DOS support

Hey guys, I'm wondering if someone can help me out with some DOS sound support. I've got a SoundBlaster Audigy 1 SB0090 PCI soundcard. It seems DOS support has been done before with this card as well as the Audigy 2. I've found the following but i've had issues. Mostly I suspect is my lack of …

Re: AGP cards for Windows 98 gaming - help!

Grab a 9700 Pro if you can find one. They aren't much slower than the 9800 Pro but have much better compatability with games in 9x. I like the last Omega drivers with both cards. I feel they geared the 9800 Pro more to XP than 9x. Whichever, make sure you remove that stupid shim from around the GPU …

Re: Yamaha YMF743

Maybe you can get a PC CARD sound card that has some DOS support . It probably will not come cheap, though . Sadly I can't find any of those. I think this one will be limited to Win98 Games! There's always OPL3LPT for FM music . Ohh yeah, I forgot about those little things. Great idea as well

Re: AGP cards for Windows 98 gaming - help!

The insight is all of them suck at dx9 except the 9800 and even it is one of the earliest dx9 cards. You said you have a xp rig? My advice use it for xp games. The FX series is a lot more interesting when you take dx9 out of the equation. Ah yes I see. Yeah I will be breaking out the XP rig that …

I am currently playing this under 9x. It won't be perfect but I'm looking for more insight on the cards …

AGP cards for Windows 98 gaming - help!

Hey team, I'm hoping someone can give me a hand to pick a video card for my Windows 98 gaming PC. Currently the system is running a 6800GS, the drivers are a nightmare under 9x. Although it runs great under XP, the 9X side has been a challenge to get working drivers. I've had issues with stuttering …

Re: Yamaha YMF743

You might want to try this . https://www.techspot.com/drivers/downloadnow/1645/?evp=378a59574ff95817da87707a0f2f1bf8&file=1 No idea if this driver has any DOS support . It is a WDM driver for Windows 98 SE and Windows 2000 EDIT : Oh wait, is it already working in Windows ? Does it have any entries …

Yamaha YMF743

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on getting a Yamaha YMF743 sound chip working under DOS? My Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 uses this (AC-XG). Although it is a member of the WMF74X Family, it's not the same as the DS-XG that does have native DOS support. Any ideas on this one? Cheers
