It's just for filtering, for testing you can use a piece of wire and the card will work. It looks like it's used for RAMDAC power filtering, use a ~600R@100MHz ferrite bead, 1206 package, >0.5A.

Yes, you're right, that's why the FT has address pins. Each TMU has a few config resistors (hanging on the RAM bus, address pins if I recall correctly), that's how the TMU address is set, among other things. That small board inside the red circle can give you a nice zap, avoid touching the output if it's powered on. Use a strong flashlight and check if you can see any image on the display.

A logic analyzer wouldn't be as useful as an oscilloscope to spot these kind of issues. And yes, 20MHz is way too low for this.

I usually identify faulty chips by running the card outside of the computer and probing the RAM ICs with an oscilloscope.

Those are diodes, for transients on the VGA interface. The card will work without them.

It's totally doable, with a good soldering station, proper cartridges, good flux and a microscope. I personally use a JBC station with C210 cartridges, and I fixed quite a few V2 cards that had ripped pins. Edit: and some good sharp tweezers.

I sanded, scanned all the layers, traced everything and reversed the schematic a few years ago. Any "extra" pins are either tied to GND or VCC, but removing the TMU and measuring directly its pins confirms that all those GND and VCC pins are internally connected to each other. Sorry to dissapoint.

It's not possible to upgrade a V2 like this. The TMU/FBI have no extra pins.

TMU power pins are: 15 27 31 43 58 73 78 96 109 116 128 140 143 153 163 173 183 187 203 The RAMDAC should provide a clock to the TMU, you can check TMU pin 186 if you have an oscilloscope. 10R is 10Ω. Though, on your particular card, that resistor was likely 22R. Then again, the exact value is not critical in this case.

R51 needs to be present, it's quite important. Actual value is not that critical, 10-22R should be fine, as it's just a series termination resistor. For a quick test you can replace it with a blob of solder and see if the card works.
