Poke FBI/TMU pins gently, most likely at least one pin is loose. 99% the RAM and TMUs are fine.

Damn, that's a nice to have card. The RAM might be SGRAM instead of the usual SDRAM (didn't check the partnumber, but usually SGRAM ICs are packaged like that). Edit: the boot screen also says SGRAM.

You can buy blank brackets and make what you need, if you have a drill, a small saw blade and some files. The end result can look extremely good.

You're right, there isn't much difference between the designs. Technically, the one with the reference plane is better, but in the case of the V2 it doesn't matter, the SLI interface is already dumbed down in the driver to work with the shitty cable. I'll upload some better pictures with the gold …

The FBI hsync plane is an import error, there is only a ground plane in the eagle files. The GND vias aren't needed, there is a continuous ground plane on the other layer tied to the connector GND pins. Not using vias also looks way better as there are no holes in the logo.
