Hi Pan, Thanks for the tip. I've tried a number of combinations of shift+ctrl+alt+del but it seems to ignore it. Quite a puzzle that's for sure. I'm really wondering if it's the type where you boot it and run a config util. Anymore ideas, I greatfully accept. 😀 Thanks!

There's been a fair whack of advertising on OzOrg.net also.. I dunno. Ultimately I don't think the entire situation benefited any of the communities which is sad I feel. I'm just glad there's still IRC out there in this age of stalkbook and whatsiegram.

G'days 😀 I'd like to bring back a Presario 7400 and install the default software and config but haven't had any luck with sourcing a "QuickRestore CD" that works with it. Does anyone know of an archive? I've tried archive.org and a few other places but no dice. Ideas? Thanks 😀

3x AA rechargables external to the system? 1.2v each. Just a thought. I have it on one of mine with a JST connecter out a duct because I'm Mr Classy 😜

I'm running one @150mhz stabilly for several years with a P4 heatsink thermal epoxy 'd on it. Solid as a rock. Going >150mhz is diminishing returns given ram speed on my board @3x50mhz.

Loudness denotes quality! Heh.. on a serious note, I had a new system "back in the day" with 2x 15k Atlas II disks in it and that was noisy as. Definitely use some rubber feet but watch out for heat as often the contact with the drive cage was part of the heat-sink. I have 2x 147gb 15k Atlas-II's in …

Some of the switches I recall when setting up one system were for wait-states and multiplier. This lets me run one at 3x50mhz instead of 4x33mhz with two VLB cards (a TekRam 690CD and an S3 805).

Kingston and a couple of other companies also used this CPU board ..without a heatsink but with a fan (!). I have 3 all different manufacturers.
