You guys got me. i was hyped about the result so I wasted my weekend seting up the Futro S400 machine with windows 98Se and tested it with the onboard GPU, NVS280 PCI 64MB 64-Bit, FX5500 PCI 256MB 128-Bit and i can tell you it is not a good Windows 98 Machine. IRQ 7 is even better because very old games have it hardcoded. the crash is most likely to the insane cpu speed you have. Pentium 4 is unfornunately not software-slowable afaik

I had no problems getting 4 floppy drives working using an Adaptec AHA-1542CF. That one has a floppy controller which can be set to a secondary i/o address. It will most likely not work with such cheap multi i/o conrollers. Did you du this while having a bios that only supports two drives? if so …

I configured the Parallel Port in Bios to use (278/IRQ5,ECP/EPP1.9,DMA3). Therefore it should be impossible to use IRQ5 for the card, shouldn't it? It works anyway with IRQ5.
