@esasoft there is a modded driver package available on techpowerup. If you can take the risk, maybe that driver for Windows 10 may give resolutions under Windows 11

Then it must be something wrong at driver level. It can't enumerate the supported resolutions through DXGI for some reason. Maybe the problem is Win11 itself. I don't know if AMD mobility radeon HD 5000 has dedicated Win11 drivers (I couldn't find one), and the Win10 driver might not be fully …

I restarted my PC and the sound returned. Then I clicked MUTE and UNMUTE and again there is no sound.

You are correct, it should work. But the ones I find, for v1.2, looks for MSVCR80.DLL which has been installed multiple times on my machine. The confusion probably grew because archive "working no-CDs" and I had put the 32-bit ones there, and how did I use them is something I can't recall. Edit: …

Technically it already has been dropped, what you think of DirectDraw since Windows 8 is actually emulated by DirectX 11/12 and since its now emulated there really isn't any reason for it to ever be removed. Even D3D9 is emulated under windows 10 and 11 which is why D3D9 games tend to run slower …
