Sorry for the necro. The manual I found for the V35N says: Ether-SCSI card slot. I know Acer made a VGA/SCSI combo card which looks to have the same extended piece compared to a PCI card.

The oldest Windows version I have is 2.42. The oldest DOS version I have is 5.11E. It would be nice to get a hold of every version between 1.0 and 5.0, but I'm feeling pretty pessimistic about this. The odds are about as good as finding a MR BIOS image for the VLSI topcat. I would like a copy of …

Start with checking if any of the power lines are shorted. Swollen capacitors are always bad news, be it shorted or open circuit.

My question apparently was not clear. Does the 6VIA85 have VRM8.4 spec voltage regulators that can handle Coppermine CPUs, from the factory? As for the jumper, thank you for explaining.
