I have the W216KWB5 motherboard, which is very similar, it works very well with 1MB but 4MB is unstable with XMS and EMS, although the SIPP RAM is correct, I have tried several memory managers, jumpers, it does not pass the xms memory tests, the application crashes and hangs.

Hi, I have dfe-538tx, i have put eprom with xtide, it work well. With diag program from dfe-538tx, i can select size eprom but not address. default is C800 How do i do change addresse ? diag program is v5.01 does it exist other program to change address for this card ? Thanks for your help

I had the same problem installing win 98 or win95, I had weird characters and it crashed every time, in fact it came from the ram. for compact flash cards I advise you to use ez drive to format them.

@megatron-uk I probably didn't configure it with xt-ide, but what is the difference with a W27E256 and a W27E257 ? are both EEPROMs? @Horun W27E257 work with TL866II Plus.

boot rom does not work on my AT28C256 EEPROMs but works fine with AM27C256 EEPROM in my case. Why? I tested several AT28C256. What is the difference with a 27C256 and a 28C256 apart from the EPROM you have to erase it with UV? My network card is ISA 3C509B-TP.

It is possible or else my motherboard only allows 8MB ram strips and is limited to 32MB in total, because 8MB strips work and are detected correctly. But I'll never know, unless I have a program that can determine the maximum RAM size for a motherboard.
