Re: My Very Long Bus Adventure.

yes, your notice about 64bit bus is right, but it is not important for performance in DOS-Game (because it use often only 16bit Memory bus ) (except VESA Mode) Trio64V+ with 0 WS is fast as ARK1000VL in VGA/letter-mode. By Windows-acceleration is Trio much faster than ARK and Vision96x is superior …

Re: My Very Long Bus Adventure.

But, i must tell: STB Powergraph P64V runs with Waitstate 1. If it is setting to zero Waitstate -> ARK1000VL Hunter. Despite stable run in Win95 and DOS, win 3.1 didn't like zero Waitstate (graphic failure with standard VGA Driver) Motherboard with SIS496/7 doesn't work with 0 Waitstate. I attached …

My guess is that it is EISA, since it uses S3 911 chipset with VRAM. All of the OPTi local bus cards I've seen so far use ET4000AX with DRAM. However, this card is not in the TH99 database, so you're taking a gamble plugging into an EISA board unless you know for certain what it is. Did you look up …

(but of course, it is a fraud.) If you want to fix it, then please fix it right and not a Mickey Mouse …

Re: S3 Trio64V+ corruption/garbled text on boot

Sorry guys, guess I should have waited for confirmation but that baking stuff I've read so many success stories about, it was such a stupid yet amazing solution (or was it amazingly stupid?) that I just had to try it. 8 minutes at 200°C, aaaaand....it's dead. VGA failure beep codes on boot. Guess I …
