solder some pins to it. In these cases the left over legs of a thru hole capacitor diode resistor or other can be used and trimmed to length.

I also used Covox Speech Thing in Pinball Fantasies to test LPT, but I don't actually know if playing Covox audio requires using a hardware IRQ or not. Not sure why that System Information tool would list IRQ 5 for LPT2. The DOS boot menu does not list LPT2 even to exist, so I am quite convinced …

There is a COM port listing utility that comes with CTMOUSE driver. I used that to see the COM settings and the COM IRQs, so J11 and J12 did not change those. Then used the System Information tool in Phil's benchmark suite to see the hardware IRQs for LPT ports, but those did not change with J11 …

odd things, the bios seems to have the option for english franch 😁 and german, yet I find only english and french text. no german. Just noticed, the mainboard uses the acer m1101 chipset. I think that's the same one as my old xt board has, which is a rebrand of ... i forgot... probably some UMC chip …

might as well try some other solvents like isopropyl or acetone(nailpolishremover) and regarding the HF... only if you donate your collection to us after you've died a horrible death due to the exposure to HF.

9v in diode mode, are you sure? that should definitly light up a white led. most multimeters only do 1v5 maybe 2v in diode mode readings. and you don't do diode mode measurements on a live system.
