Re: DOSBox & MT32 diff

in MT-32 General
Thanks, that saved me a lot of time. Now I'm getting the same c2666 error that you received in this thread http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=4606&highlight=c2666 under VS.NET 2003. Did you resolve the error? Edit: To get it to compile, I've casted all of the pow calls so that it uses pow(float, …

Re: DOSBox & MT32 diff

in MT-32 General
Yes, but the difficulty is that I don't have a base version of DOSBox to compare it to. When I ran a "cvs diff", unexpected changes were being flagged (eg. the vga code). At this stage, I guess I'll start from the three new files, PartialMT32.h, CSynthMT32.cpp and CPartialMT32.cpp, check what calls …

DOSBox & MT32 diff

in MT-32 General
Canadacow, I am interested in the changes you have made to DOSBox to incorporate the MT32 emulation. I'd like to apply the emulation to the latest DOSBox CVS version. I've downloaded the combined source on your website but cannot determine the MT32 changes you have made. Is it possible for you to …

Re: Promise RAID hell!

The reason why it is/was slow is that the drives were configured as slaves. The fastest config would be a system with all of its drives as masters with no slaves hanging off them. If the system does not have a connection for another master, the fastest slave drive should be configured as a slave to …

Re: How does MSOLO work???

At this point, you have two options: 1. Try setting up the sound card settings for your game from within DOSBox. 2. Wait for a newer version of DOSBox. Updates come quite regularly and DOSBox is improving rapidly. Merry Christmas

kukus444, try this: 1. Unzip dosbox-057 to a directory 2. Install the game you want to play to another directory 3. Start dosbox. You should see a dos prompt like window pointing to Z:\> 4. At the "Z:\>" prompt, type "MOUNT C " where is the directory you installed the game into in step 2 above. 5. …

Re: Syndicate/Syndicate Wars

The Sound Blaster Pro was only detected when VDMSound was loaded. XP does not have built-in SBPRO emulation as Snover stated. I think the bug lies in the SETSOUND program. It detected the SBPRO from VDMSound and then proceeded to set up the program using the WinXP Sound Blaster emulation. It …

Re: Syndicate/Syndicate Wars

Here are the results that I get with Syndicate Wars: VDMSound not loaded: SETSOUND does not detect SB PRO, does not detect SB16. Does detect SB. With SB selected (IRQ5), the game does not have sound and it crashes. VDMSound loaded: SETSOUND does detect SB16, SB PRO and SB. With SB16 selected, there …

Re: Syndicate/Syndicate Wars

I have had some success with both Syndicate and Syndicate Wars. Syndicate Wars I have the version of Syndicate Wars that is at HOTU (Zeus CD-rip - zipsize 38,039,015 bytes). I installed VDMSound 2.04 and then applied Update 1 using default settings. Gotta say that VDMSound has come a long way since …
