Re: RGB Monitor on MCGA output

Yeah, I will clarify that the monochrome image that is on the screen looks 100% correct with regard to its size and location on the screen. The color information seems to be where things are falling apart, as it starts monochrome then the blue saturation increases with time. There is also the noise …

Re: RGB Monitor on MCGA output

It works! Sort of... The image started out monochrome, then the blue started to saturate more and more. You can see some lines on the left edge of the screen that appeared as the blue started to come in, then as the blue got stronger the lines grew to the entire length of the screen, then the image …

DIP Switches on TSENG Labs ET3000AX

I am having trouble finding any information about this graphics card. This site (https://retronn.de/imports/hwgal/hw_graphics_card_tseng_et3000ax_front.html) has a bit of info and a smattering of drivers, but no manual. Does anyone have any idea what the DIP switches are for? What about the jumpers? …

Re: Is this a fake Lemmings disk?

I was able to create an image of the disk with dd and mounted it on my Linux machine to calculate crc32 of 8458c7c6. The file also has a date of 07-19-91 so that all checks out. There were also a bunch of directories in the image called '?m??m??m.??m' which I was unable to access, so I'm guessing …

Re: Is this a fake Lemmings disk?

I'm pretty convinced that this is an original disk. I saw another report saying that the copy protection creates a garbage disk label. I also tried having an unrelated floppy in the drive and that didn't work, so if it's a fake copy protection, it's more than just checking for a disk in the drive. …

Re: Is this a fake Lemmings disk?

I don't know anything about copy-protection or Lemmings, but this is what I tried: When I do a fresh install of the game there is no RUSSELL.DAT file and the game insists that I insert the disk for it to start. Then if I put the disk in it will load the game and create a (hidden) RUSSELL.DAT file …

Is this a fake Lemmings disk?

I recently was given a container of floppies and found this Lemmings disk. It looks like someone tried really hard to make a commercial disk, but just ended up using a boring font instead of the real graphic. I thought it was interesting that they even went to the trouble of getting the part number …

https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=76890&p=897436 Well, I am going to have to read that thread several times to understand everything in it... but what I do understand is in this post https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=897664#p897664 (which quotes another forum's thread). Looks like I …
