UniPCEM has no GUI on Windows X64?

Mine looks NOTHING like the tutorial video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9oAZvDqJbg I just get a blank screen with some weird orange text cut off to the bottom right side of the screen. Am I missing something? Obviously these are not clear tutorials and I am suspecting the comments (except …

Re: PCem alternatives / forks?

These projects suffer from very low number of contributors. I'm surprised PCem even lasted that long. I don't really want any new features , I would be happy if the goal of 86Box was just to fix all the bugs reported in Github (and there aren't that many in comparison to e.g dosbox-x). People have …

Re: (For PCEM) Will upgrading from an I7: 8700 to any I9 compatible with my 300 series chipset offer me any improvements

But to your original question: Upgrading your graphics card will do very little to improve PCem's performance, since the program is dependent on your CPU mainly. Simply put, if you want more speed out of PCem, you need to get a better CPU. Preferably one that has good single-thread performance ( …

Re: PCEM17 on I7 vs I9?

As for the issue with stutter on the CD-ROM drive.. Maybe it's just spinning too fast? Did you try lowering speed? If you choose constant velocity speed, the stutter might go away. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constant_linear_velocity Nero Burning ROM had an utility called "Nero Drive Speed". …

Re: PCem performance issues with Ryzen 7 5800X System

"I also dont understand how this came so suddenly. Could it be tied to a windows update?" Keywords right there bud. Microsoft has technically been 'Nokia' since Windows 8 when they fired all their PC people and replaced them with phone people form the fold up of Nokia phones. Microsoft in a leverage …

Re: (For PCEM) Will upgrading from an I7: 8700 to any I9 compatible with my 300 series chipset offer me any improvements

Windows 9X games run way better with DOSBox-X. This is an emulator side "problem" (accuracy vs speed). Of course native is the way to go, if possible. Oh and thanks for showing I'm not shadowbanned! I was worried I triggered something due to the 'sensitive' culture the slightest thing can set off …

Windows 9X games run way better with DOSBox-X. This is an emulator side "problem" (accuracy vs speed). Of course native is the way to go, if possible. Overclocking my I7 a tiny bit (within safe ranges) seem sto have helped a lot when logging into Windows 98 which used to stutter like hell but was …

Re: Old games that had CD Audio tracks?

Magic School Bus Ocean and Earth have audio tracks but they never play in game. Youtube they are ripped so you can listen to them. One would never know the games had such beautiful music!
