One major advantage that PCEM has that 86box does not is using your actual CD drive. I know I sound old but I still love it for games with copy protection on them: IE: Need For Speed High Stakes won't run on any sort of ISO type image:

Rip your discs to cue/bin for using with 86Box, as iso doesn't preserve some information used by copy protection. Did that and doesn't work. The Cu file works but it still leads to the copy protection issue so I'm using the live CD feature on PCEM and leave 86Box for the games it doesn't matter. …

These projects suffer from very low number of contributors. I'm surprised PCem even lasted that long. PCEM I can use the live CD method which got me playing MM2 on it but you can't do that on 86Box even the recent updated one. Another game that is a no go in this is Need For Speed High Stakes ISO.

Contrary to what the other person said, in my experience, PCem runs Windows 9x games better than DOSBox-X. At least, games that requires a 3D card. I find PCem's Voodoo2 emulation better than DOSBox-X's Voodoo emulation. But everyone has different experiences. But to your original question: …

Magic School Bus Ocean and Earth have audio tracks but they never play in game. Youtube they are ripped so you can listen to them. One would never know the games had such beautiful music!
