The problem is that production of ATX/mATX cases having front bays for DIY computer builds is also on decline. They are increasingly hard to find. Most of the cases are for gaming rigs and optimized for cooling and aesthetics. Even 3.5 HDD bays are no longer there.

My keyboard only works in BIOS. In Windows 98 it doesn't. I haven't tried anything special for it though. But I have another problem with any USB HID devices. When it's plugged in, I sometimes get badly distorted image.

On my old Acorp 6BX86, there's one USB 10 pins connector. And I don't have its original extender. I installed it into ATX case and its 2 front USB sockets are connected by a 9 pins plug. I used Duron 800 with PC133 RAM for office work back in 2008. That felt slow by then already. Your best bet IMO is to sell vintage stuff to retro enthusiasts and buy something cheap from dual-core era, like Celeron G530 etc, they are cheap as trash.
