Windows 7 64-bit | Wing Commander 1 [gog edition] | Munt

in MT-32 General
Hello! I decided to open a topic here because I have spent hours trying to make things work without success. My intention is to install (correctly) the latest version of Munt on my W7 64-bit system and use it to play the music (and sound?) in the gog version of Wing Commander. For starters, I …

Qbix, you're right! Well spotted! I must say I did expect an all kind of impact on the pixelation by using a scaler like hq3x, mostly after looking at the Dosbox Wiki page. Thank you very much for your help and support in all this! Keep it up!

Re: Dosbox & Scalers

Well, yes... I thought I could use DosBox's own functionality to take screenshots (else why would there be such an option available at all? :surprised: ). However here I am attaching screenshots taken directly via print key and pasted on Paint (at least the black lines of the tv3x scaler here are …

Re: Dosbox & Scalers

Well, yes... I have a rather old LCD monitor and I run at 1024 x 768 so I guess all is relative. I see the effect of the scaler when the DosBox window appears but, even with the forced option, no visible differences can be noted (as my screenshots show). However I can confirm that when I now used …

Re: Dosbox & Scalers

Hello! Here I have taken 3 screenshots using 3 different scalers. While I was playing I could see a difference only when using the rgb3x (and similar like tv3x because they'd display the black lines/dots so I know they were active and working but in the rgb3x screenshot saved not even that shows!). …

Re: Dosbox & Scalers

Hello again and thanks for your answers! I actually checked the DOSBoxWiki article before posting here (as mentioned, I tried to document myself first) and that's exactly why I was wondering if the scalars I chose worked at all, since there was no visible result and the pixelation was to my eyes …

Dosbox & Scalers

in DOSBox General
Hello! I looked through the read me file and tried to search some for some infos but to no avail so I hope you experts here can give me a hand with some questions. 1) Which scaler is the best to use with DosBox? 2) Do scalers work in both full screen and windowed mode? 3) I was playing Ultima …

Re: DosBox & MIDI

in DOSBox General
A small update: I am successful at finally have the game play high quality MIDI music using my SW1000XG card (someone in another topic incorrectly said it could not be used for music in DOS games - it certainly works with DosBox!). The "problem" was apparently that I was launching the game from the …

DosBox & MIDI

in DOSBox General
Hello! I have a PC with two internal soundcards, one of which is dedicated to MIDI (Yamaha SW1000XG). I am successfully running Ultima Underworld with DosBox but I suspect that the music played is not produced by my MIDI soundcard. Could some of you be so kind and help me understand how I am …

I have no symphaty for people whose weird logic just aims to benefit themselves. Your argumentation makes no sense. It's absolutely out of any logic and the bottom of it is that you will not pay those 10$ because you think that programming is fun thus Glidos' author should do it for free. If you'd …

Vagrant, "as programmer I don't agree with requiring money in change of some zeros and ones. Programming to me it's just fun" This is just ridicolous. I have fun singing but believe me I do think it's fair that professional singers charge me money for the CDs they produce! What I can just wish you …

Gambit37, in the caves, I set Lara in a corner so I can see her model from the front and try and see if there are some inconsistencies. First: great job. The problem I encounter are: 1) When the image is close enough, lara's glasses disappear. Not so nice. 2) In some position, a vertical blue (same …
