yes, you were probably lucky, I tried the IDE BIOS and still no chance. I've since acquired a VIA and another promise that is SATA 300 and they both also work. Here is a picture of the PSU I use, it's actually not bad at the 5V rail

You can find vga cooler of pretty much any size you can image on ebay, just measure the distance between pins and do a quick search. A Geforce 2 shouldn't need anything fancy, anything modern and a fresh thermal paste will be good as new.

Yes, it can run with this passive cooler, but it gets toasty. While this passive heatsink it's not original from Asus, I got it from a third Ti4200 that was dead, so it's supposed to be enough for a ti4200. You should be more than fine with your custom solution / noctua fan, even the original cooler …

Thanks, yes on DOOM E1M1 it's clear, definitely better. But on some other games I tried I wasn't sure. I recently created a way to quickly change back and forward between them, will test more games.

Doom 1 and Tie Fighter (CD Version that has GUS support) sounds better with Pro Patches lite in my opinion, I will see if I can make some recordings.

Thanks for the comments guys. Crusher, Yes the patches gives different sound character in DOS games, and I'm my opinion it makes it better, I don't like the sound from the original patches. As far as I know the patches don't affect windows at all, for Windows you can use the 4MB patch from the GUS …
