Trying to remember another old DOS game...

in DOS
Hi, I'm trying to remember an old DOS game I played back in the late 80s or early 90s. I remember that you were controlling this shuttle (or was it a jet?) and you were always about to land. I think you could use the arrow keys to pan around the shuttle view - which was quite large. Using the …

DOSBox (Mac OS X Version)

in DOSBox General
Hi, I recommended DOSBox to a friend to try out a few old games to play. I guess he's gotten interested, and I'm trying to show him how to have DOSBox mount everything on startup. I have the Windows version of DOSBox whilst he has the Mac OS X version. I know if you have the Windows version, you're …

Re: Trying to remember an old DOS game...

in DOS
No, Technocop isn't it. I remember that the Spy Hunter clone levels had a top-down view, rather than 3rd-person. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was published by Domark...

Trying to remember an old DOS game...

in DOS
Hi, I'm trying to remember an old DOS game I played in the early 1990s. Here's what I remember about it. I remember it was a movie-to-game adaptation, and a pretty good one at that. I remember that most levels (I think there were around six or seven) were basically a clone of Spy Hunter. You could …

Suggestion

in Milliways
Got a little suggestion here. What about a VOGONS Msg Board Trading Post? Sure, some people might worry about scams but there could be a disclaimer saying that VOGONS is not responsible for any transactions. Perhaps there could also be a stickied list of trusted traders, buyers, or sellers on the …

Re: Dialogue Problems in DOTT

in DOS
Sounds like you've only got the floppy version of the game, rather than the CD version. In most LucasArts games that had speech that came on floppies, only the introduction would have speech and then it would go to subtitled dialogue with no speech.

Re: Licence to Kill

Well, the game came on three 5.25" disks. One was used for CGA and Hercules graphic modes, one was used for EGA graphic modes, and one was used for a Tandy computer. I cannot try the Tandy version of the game as the Tandy diskette cannot be read in an IBM PC 5.25" drive for copying. Here's what I …

Re: Licence to Kill

Yes, I'm using just the 0.63 version of DOSBox. I've looked at the CVS thread, but I can't seem to find anything that might help with a CGA game. I've also tried to get the game working under Windows XP's command prompt but I get the same problems I get in DOSBox. Would this mean I have corrupt …

Licence to Kill

Hi, I've got a slight problem running Licence to Kill in DOSBox which was released in 1989 and was published by Domark and developed by Quixel. The EGA version seems to work fine without any problems, but when I try playing the CGA version, I only get audio in the game with no video and no control. …

Vintage Computers and Software.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I hope it is. I've gotten back into ye olde video games. By ye olde video games, I mean the games from the 1980s and early 1990s. I know of DOSBox (obviously), but recently, I've started to look into a more authentic feel. I'm thinking of getting a 486 or …

DOSBox Screen Size

in DOSBox General
Hi, I've used DOSBox for well over a year now, and it's a great program. Although I do have one question. Is it possible to switch DOSBox's screen size from 640 * 480 to something such as 320 * 200 or 1024 * 768. Is there anything I can edit in the .conf file to change this?

The Elder Scrolls: Arena (Floppy Version)

Hi, I downloaded The Elder Scrolls: Arena off Bethesda Softworks' website awhile back, and I've only now just begun to start seriously playing it. However, the problem is that it runs rather poopy. In the beginning dungeon, the framerate is fine but when I step out into the town, things start …
