there is no need for resets or reboots or other trickery once you exit the dos box under windows then mpu will become available again to windows , if that does not happen then it's something else going on you might want to try the other MPU-401 drivers from pcmidi webpage and see if any works …

The Sysex reset didn't work. Rebooting always works ;) Just looking at the SC-55, nothing seems to be outputting to it, none of the bars move so it doesn't seem like any data is being sent to it at all. If I switch midi output in the control panel to something like my Audigy 2 or even OPL or GUS …

To initialize GUS part, just run IWINIT.EXE -V9 to see everything. Also, make sure in orpheus.ini you have it set for orpheusII on configuration. Orpheus 2 is not supported by unisound yet, I believe it will be in a near future. I have no idea what happened, booted up the PC to DOS today and the …

you can use any DMA from 0 to 3 I use 1 for the 8 bit DMA and 5 for the 16 bit and that works.. You can't actually set a DMA of 0-4 for the 16 bit, its only 5-7, at least that's what Duke3D allows. So two errors/issues left. 1. No music from GUS in Windows DOS mode. 2. Maybe just a notification …

D5 is not ok it should be D3 , there is no DMA5 on crystal part. Only 0, 1, 3 For the Sound Blaster you mean? DMA 3 and DMA 1 should be used? Actually I got the SB working again, although still see that error from Orphinit... My SB Audigy was trying to take IRQ 5 so I had to reserve it in the bios.
