Sorry, forgot to mention, JP1 does nothing at all when shorted. In fact, the motherboards boots just fine with a jumper on it.

I have DTK 8Mhz XT clone and wonder if there is a simple way (e.g., soldering a couple of wires on the back) to add connection to reset button. The button can be used in open or closed circuit mode. Some info on the motherboard: https://th99.infania.net/m/C-D/30501.htm

I have managed to format Zip disks via scsi isa card on windows 98 machine; but it is a lot of faff to copy files this way. Basilisk route as described above is the way to go.

My only SCSI device is ISA card currently on 486 - with windows 3.1 / 95 I guess it is not going to work? I have a P3 with ISA and windows 2000 - would that work? Is it possible to have DB25 SCSI port on a modern pc?

Transmac sounds like the answer! Shall try V4.1 from https://archive.org/details/tmac41c_zip The Mac does read normal 720kb floppies but leaves all files in "PC" format. I can also read fine Mac floppies using FluxEngine + greazeweasle board but for some reason always fail to write 800k images.

Done the cleaning as suggested - vinegar, de ionosed water wnd then isopropyl alcohol - see the photos for the end result. Also, attached battery (4.8v, original is three serial of AA).
