Great info, thank you! And that's pretty much exactly what was happening. The bios would still ramp up the fans when stressing the cpu but i could not monitor the cores. It's still a great chip that overclocked well.

Just to put a cap on this, I ended up finding a Core 2 Duo E7600 for $5 on ebay ($6 shipping 🤣) and it works as you think it might. So, not only do i get to monitor each core but i got a small upgrade to boot.

Using AIDA64 still shows core1 stuck at 44 and Core2 stuck at 36 just like the other tools. But, AIDA64 also shows the overall view of the CPU that DOES change. So, that's some progress 😀

Thanks for checking but sadly, mine is stuck. I see my motherboard/chipset temp changing when i stress the cpu but core0 and 1 just sits. I see it changing in the bios and using gigabytes winxp overclocking tool but not core temp, HWiNFO, Realtemp.

Nope, still a no go. Core 0 is static at 44c and Core 1 is static at 36c.

Ah! it may be the software versions that i'm using with coretemp, realtemp and hwmonitor. I'll downgrade to XP proper versions and see if that's the issue..

Yeah, on amazon they have $5 4-pin adapter cables that allows you to connect standard 4-pin PC fans to the gpu's mini 4pin. Might be easer and overall more secure to get one, cut and splice it on to the GPU.
