Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Yeah matrix will not just work, it needs some good "admin" work to ensure quality of reports.. and removing not valid information and analysis based on results, to find out there could be problem why its not working for some people You are right. Good ideas begin and die in seconds. Establishing a …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Dos games on there shiny new HW, but as you see here there are lots of other compatibility problems.. and after initial hype would be gone, i dunno who much people will happy with small compatibility percentace, because so far i so here teste like ~40 most common suspects games. You dont want to …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

welcome to the jemmex hell nightmare bugs :D Jemmex is pretty amazing. If you use it at an attempt to attain Upper Memory, it should be expect that there will be potential for a crash. Did you know people used to configure that area of memory manually? Why would that be? Why couldn't it just be …

If support can be extended to additional devices, Pentium III/M Toshiba laptops use this AC sound card: ULi/ALi M5451 AC-Link Contoller Audio Device The motherboard is a: ULi/ALi M1644 CyberALLADDiN I have a P2010 with a Pentium III 866MHz and would love to test this. Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

I disabled network boot, also tried NOEMS option and even removed a 2GB ram module but no way, jemmx fails anyway. Would it be worth posting the error, when using NOEMS? Does it differ, in a meaningful way? Do you normally use Himemx? If not, what do you normally use? I'm assuming that you get no …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

First one was a thin client Fujitsu Siemens A25, it's use a Geode LX800 processor and have a CS5536 audio chip. I have the same audio chip on another thin clients with a Geode GX2 Unfortunately did not work, I know it's a weird audio device. But a lot of thin clients with low power consumption use …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

I'm currently busy with my work and have no spare time to do it right now. Any helps to add MIDI support is appreciated, or you can wait when I'm available to do it. I feel a little crappy, for not "really" having helped. I've also been meaning to look into your USB project (more OHCI compatibility …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Way better! Thank you! Glad it worked. Prince of Persia music is fine, but when the effects start, the trtrtrtrtrtr noise +lock is back Does IRQ 5 (SBEMU) work for you, now? Maybe you've already tried these, but there are initialize options for P.O.P.. https://popuw.com/parameters.html You could …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Asrock K7VM2 Rev 3.01 I think this is your chipset, VIA VT8375 (KM266). Is does. Wave, MP3, MIDI. Works even without SBEMU. How does this work? Does the MPXP player come with its own AC97 initialization? SBEMU's audio initialization is based on MPXPLAY. If it works, then this provides a crumb of …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

No chance with sbemu on my fastest Win98 PC (XP 2400+) . AC97 onboard, but only loud noise. Hanging sound until restart. Any ideas/suggestions? Which version of SBEMU did you try? When did the noise start, during SBEMU initiation or game initiation? Does MPXplay work on your machine? You might also …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Why there are two SBEMU with different approach from different developers, both named SBEMU and in the same thread? What's the purpose? My initial desire, was to extract out an audio card initiation library. Maybe not, but probably, even Dos dependent. Then see how hard it was to submit ways for …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

If I try to use mpxplay without loading SBEMU, it will not do anything. Ah.... Sorry, for reading you wrong. That does change it a bit. What happens if you used Xtc-play? https://modland.com/pub/software/players/DOS/XTC-Play/ Note: I have no experience using Xtc-play. It is just an idea, that I am …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

That didn't do anything, the volume was already set to max. And on the other system the double fast playback problem persists. Perhaps mpxplayer doesn't like 256kbit .mp3 files, I should test with 128kbit too but I don't have any. Should transcode some of them to lower bitrate. It would be strange, …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Anyway, thinking there should be a way to do it like that, rather than try a deflection shot off 2 cast iron pans into your foot like a comedy western. There is already AC97 and HDA drivers, for Win3x. Trying to use SBEMU, for Win3x, isn't really needed. Using JEMMEX and HDPMI32(i) will probably …
