Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Yes, its possible. Check this thread and follow the instructions. https://msfn.org/board/topic/178295-audio-driver-for-realtek-hd-audio-hardware-testing-thread/ I tried it and it works perfectly, although I thought it was an impossible mission. Now my Realtek HDA onboard card, provides sound in Win …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

40 pages are a lot, a FAQ or wiki is really necessary. I have a question that I'm sure it was already asked but I can't find the answer. Is there any hope to make it work under Windows 98? Not DOS mode, Windows itself. I have a Asus EEE netbook with SiS chipset and HDA sound. In DOS mode SBEMU …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

AFAIK Jemmex will work in plain DOS mode only, it will not work to start Win with Jemmex loaded. For the dll, you need to specify the path to jload AND to the dll. As an example c:\dos\jload c:\dos\qpiemu.dll Yes, its really annoying. I always liked to start DOS 7.1 directly and then windows98 if …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Hi, Having issues with Audigy card. As soon as SBEMU loads I get a contant "white noise" sound from the Audigy. Tried with Audigy (SB0090) and Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) and get same result. Booting to DOS7.1 (Win98SE, command prompt only bootmenu option) using Jemmex etc Board is Asrock P67 Pro3, so …

I tested my Commanche Maximum Overkill (its data are proven on some real machines), its the same setup enable to set it right, but it dunno if it actually testing something.. no sound in game.. I have some Commanche Maximum Overkill demo too.. and it even refuse to start with this message: SYS …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

@retrofan011 Which version of Comanche did you try? There is a patch for earlier revisions of that game that makes them use a proper DOS extender. You might have better results trying SBEMU with this game if you have that patch applied. You can find the patch in this GitHub issue thread (unrelated …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

So far, I have tested about 20 well-known DOS games, two of them crashed at startup (Comanche and Spear of Destiny) and one (Witchaeven) works, but doesnt produce any sound ,even after sound setup. Btw, Terminal Velocity also works with jemmex, the problem was too much RAM, which should be reduced …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

Today, I continued to test SBEMU, this time with QEMM and my PCI Sound Blaster card worked with it, as well as the game Terminal Velocity, which did not work with Jemmex! The downside is, that QEMM doesn't support SETPVI.exe, which I use as a compatibility fix when needed. According to the …

Re: SBEMU: Sound Blaster emulation on AC97

I tried SBEMU for the first time today, on my PC with Intel 945G @ICH7 and two cards, onboard Realtek AC97 (ALC882) and Creative SB 128 PCI CT4810 (5580). Interestingly, sbemu recognizes SB card as an Ensoniq ES1373, even though the card has the markings I listed above. The Realtek onboard card …
