Well thanks much for the help, i certainly learned a lot about old dos which i tought had no more secrets for me. I will have to get a dos partition up in order to play these oldies i guess 😀 Again thanks for your time.

Finally managed to get EMS on display when typing mem needed to shut down OnBoard Nic however , the game still does not want to start 🙁 here is the error Expanded memory function 44 received error 44 In file : wga_mem. asm Ouch! Something nasty happened!

Something just hit me however i have been able to run most old dos based games up to now aside this one and eye of the beholder 3 figured im running a NTFS file system, perhaps there is the root of my problems ???

Bleh , this game is a hard one to get running i swear :) After freeing enough EMS memory * thanks for the dosx * a new error message comes up Expanded memory function 44 received error 44 In file : wga_mem. asm Ouch! Here's the deal however, i tried the loadfix -26 ( brining my mem to exactly 610 and it says the dosbox message mentionned in my first post ) basically the message changes in dosbox it asks for system resources "No system ressources, ouch something nasty happened" is the exact message. Ok i think i made a step forward :) I realized that uncompressing the zips and then the arj files by hand was not the way to go. I changed some values in the install.nfo and made the install.exe use arj by himself. So the game installed itself with the good old GUI rather than me uncompressing it …

Very strange, i have the same files as you do I am using windows XP, also tried to set compatibility and put EMS to max, but the error message is very cryptic. Perhaps i will try using VDMsound or something also i hear its a dissapointing game compared to the first 2 installations ?
