Re: General thoughts on the Permedia 2?

I have a soft spot for the permedia2, not fast but I never had issues with it, good image quality, handled windows decently. I have a permedia3 it has excellent image quality in 2d under windows 98 butweird graphical issues under 3d I guess is driver issues or missing 3d features.

Re: Ct3670 eye candy

Finally got time to stick the card into my pentium iiie system. It is far less noisy than my audician. But the onboard sound ROM is definitely not as good sounding as my Ra-30. Can't wait to get some ram on this thing and test out some different sound fonts.

Re: Weird GeForce 2 mx400

After further experimenting and testing I found that the core is likely 200mhz and the ram is indeed 125mhz. small overclock of 10 mhz increases performance in 3dmark almost 200 points . I still wonder at the discrepancy between the bios reporting and the detected clock. Its ok though for the system …

Re: Ct3670 eye candy

Not my town we had one store that had overpriced accessories and sold pirated copies of Windows and Office, and an Electronic Boutique that sold overpriced games and crappy video cards. Now that I think of it the pirated software got them sued out of existence

Re: Ct3670 eye candy

Another question about the card. Was this an OEM model because the manual and cd don't look like any of the ones I ever got buying Creative products in the past? I've found other creative manuals that look like this one but most seem to be a bit more, dare I say stylish!

Re: Ct3670 eye candy

Good refresher, I was an IT major in college! Back then I learned on 486s and pentium I systems. But in the intervening years I ended up working in fine metals for the semiconductor industry and haven't had to worry about this stuff in decades. So you jogged my brain! I guess I didn't think about …

Re: Ct3670 eye candy

Clear as mud! 🤔 I was just hoping it would be like unlocking some old gpus and give increased capabilities. Not important really, just a hope. Anyway I plan on maxing out it's ram and running it beside my audician 32 And my ra-30 midi. I don't care if the IDE is there or not in the particular system …

Ct3670 eye candy

On a whim made an offer on a sound card on eBay that the seller didn't have a good picture of. The only picture was of the card in his hand covering most of the card, the only thing giving it away was the end of the simm slots, the position of a chip next to the slots. My guess was right. The card …

Re: Audician 32 hanging midi

I haven't had any real complaints about the card but I should be getting in the mail what I believe is a ct3670 judging by the picture of the eBay sellers hand holding the card. Actually all I could make out was the ram slots and the position of one chip next to it. I will try on this card when it …

Re: Audician 32 hanging midi

The cable is a Casio brand cable. It was new in package. I don't know if Casio made good cables but I trust the brand more than generic eBay cables. And looking at the other thread might explain it since I had both plugs in the back of the module?

Audician 32 hanging midi

Never having owned an external midi module I was very pleased to get a deal on an Roland ra-30, which I believe has had some discussion around these parts in the past. After getting a proper midi cable and sound cables I hooked the unit up to my audician 32 sound card and configured it under win98. …

Re: Weird GeForce 2 mx400

It was labeled Apollo came in what appears to be original box and the model numbers match I figured it was the same Apollo that made the bloody monster cards, which I'm only familiar because of the name. When I get the chance I'll download some older drivers.

Re: Weird GeForce 2 mx400
