Re: you perfer a daul-boot for Win 98/XP build or 2 seperate builds for the best of both worlds

Greywolf1 wrote on 2025-04-23, 14:33: Due to hardware issues I’ve ended up separating win 98 and having an additional win xp/7 machine means I can have a more robust xp instead of have to deal with 98/xp same here. you losing compatability either way with dual-boot, not matter how many patches with …

Re: you perfer a daul-boot for Win 98/XP build or 2 seperate builds for the best of both worlds

i was using 45.23 drivers (most recommended for ti 4200), and they work fine, but early win 95 titles like "pitfall: mayan adventure", "Lomax" and "toy story" refused to work properly no matter what i do (even on the FX cards), in windowed mode, it struggles under 30fps with screen tearing, in full …

Re: you perfer a daul-boot for Win 98/XP build or 2 seperate builds for the best of both worlds

The problem with dual booting 98 and XP, is the requirement for 98 support limits some parts which would be better for XP. R Loew's patch can help with running 98 with a more XP appropriate amount of RAM, but later XP compatible GPUs don't have 98 drivers agree, that's a challenge, and overkill win …

A P4, SB Live, and 4200ti should be a solid 98 machine that supports graphics features deprecated in later cards. As for the SSD in XP. With …

Re: Flashing 3dfx bios

THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THIS INFORMATION AND ROM. i got a 3dfx voodoo 3000 agp (V1.001, SD RAM version) from lot of old pcs for 40$ (what a bargin!), that card thankfully works, no artifacts or any kind of errors. replaced the old capasitors, changed the thermal paste and add a fan to the heatsink. …
