Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I forgot to mention another issue I've been experiencing with DBGL. I may have mentioned before that I have several DBGL installations on my PC. One for playing, and another to test new games / apps I come across. This later install is the only one where I use DBGL betas. But I've also got another …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I've just uploaded beta5 with a toggle option in the preferences dialog, in which you can choose to use the 'old' file linking method (by file path), or the more modern method by using file:// URL. This should help with the issue reported by Neville, above. As to why file linking by using URLs does …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I found the issue for real this time!. Sierra games in particular like to install a game in a subfolder (BC, KQ1, ZELIARD, etc.) and place a batch file with the same name (BC.BAT, KQ1.BAT, ZELIARD.BAT) alongside that folder. When the game folder and a file with the same name exist alongside one …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I'm noticing something in the last beta... linked documents no longer open their viewers / editors. I'0m talking PDF and JPG files. …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Onward with 0.96 beta1, the first DBGL version to require at least Java 11 : Fixed issue where on some systems, non-relative profile links could be saved. Any such existing links will be corrected on first startup (arobbo) Stripped j7zip, effectively removing 7-zip support for GamePackArchives …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hm, interesting question. What you could do, of course, is just to add the Mac DOSBox-Staging/X version in DBGL when running OSX. Then you can run your profiles by right-clicking and using "Run with.." and choose the Mac DOSBox version of your liking. However, it would be better if it were possible …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Thanks for answering Neville. I just wanted to add that DBGL stores these custom autoexec entries inside the profile's .conf file. Thus, one can always run the game with DOSBox without using DBGL (for example, using a desktop shortcut). Also, you can add/edit these custom entries multiple DBGL …
