Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

More updates in beta10: Updated (the 3 db/mobygames.*) MetropolisLauncher database files for HSQLDB 2.6.0; Use ~/.local/share/dbgl for data files on Linux systems, and ~/Library/dbgl on MacOS (_Rob). Linux users might have to manually move any existing files to the new location like so: mkdir ~/. …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

DBGL is no longer starting... This is with 093beta9. Any idea what may be causing this? I have java-11-openjdk-headless and java-11-openjdk packages installed, and it was working until a few days ago. So I'm guessing either some system update broke things, or a dbgl database file got corrupted? …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hi to everyone! I often get an error "Argument cannot be null" and DBGL crashes when I try to edit a game profile to add screenshots from the Metropolis Launcher MobyGames database. I'm using the DBGL 0.93beta8 version and my platform Java is up to date (on Windows 10 Pro). This problem doesn't …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hi Ronald, I'm running into a strange and unwanted directory creation problem in DBGL093beta8, and probably versions 090 onwards in Puppy Linux. I am using a 'frugal' install of DevuanPup64, on a Panasonic cf 52 mk3 laptop (2core duo, 2.3Ghz, 4 GB ram). So when I attempt to start a session of DBGL …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

With current version in Windows 10, I keep getting this error when I click launch.exe: This application requires a java runtime environment 1.8.0_00 (64-bit) When I click on OK I'm taken to https://java.com/en/download/, I've downloaded and installed 3 times already java, tried with the offline …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Does anyone know why I am getting the message Couldn't open file "O:\DBGL\DOSBox-0.74-3\dosbox.conf" whenever I try and open a game or edit a profile? DBGL requires each configured DOSBox version to be able to load its defaults from dosbox.conf. Does the file at O:\DBGL\DOSBox-0.74-3\dosbox.conf …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

That is still possible by adding mt32 in the 'generic' dynamic options in File->Preferences->Dynamic Options. These are shared by all DOSBox versions that are not using version-specific settings. However, I'd rather not add these kind of options to DBGL's defaults as it would likely lead to …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I don't see how, Neville. Several years ago it was somewhat plausible to detect special DOSBox versions such as the ones from Gulikoza or Daum based on the available options in dosbox.conf, but with so many (rapidly changing) special DOSBox versions floating around these days (and having such a wide …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I have a problem with dosbox-x and dbgl. Some option supported by dosbox-x are grey. Yeah, it's getting a bit silly trying to keep up with the ever-changing DOSBox-x features and settings. But most outdated settings ought to be fixed in beta8, so it should work better now. In midi device, mt32 is …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

..whenever I launch DBGL, the tile image of the last launched game is blank - I have to view the screenshot and close it again for it to correctly show. Fixed. UX Feature request: a jump-to ability so that typing a letter whilst browsing the list of games will jump to the first game starting with …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

..Adding an option to don't execute any file at start, or allow the dos/booter section to be blank, so that we can run the dos without running a program (or running a stub bat) and have the folders mounted. Removing the main executable will never be possible in DBGL (because of technical reasons), …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

I am trying to import my D-Fend Reloaded configs to DBGL so I won´t need to manually configurate one by one all my games but I am not doing it right or I don´t know how to do It properly. I will apreciate some help, maybe a step by step? I am trying but, well, I don´t get It. First step is to …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Odd thing; it looks like the screenshot height in px somehow got messed up. Please check File -> Preferences -> GUI options tab, 'Screenshots, Height' and choose a reasonable amount, such as 300px. Then restart DBGL to see if it resolves the issue. If not, please share the contents of your DBGL ' …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

1) DOSBox-x uses a (afaik) non-standard output mode 'default'. Try setting it to opengl, seems to work for me; 2) add 'fluidsynth' to the possible [midi] devices values, and select it in your profile like so Filename step1.png File size 57.79 KiB Views 643 views Filename step2.png File size 86.99 …

Re: DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

...With Doxbox-X I have problems. It doesn't matter which version I choose, when I try to add it in DBGL under "Dosbox versions", choosing the right path and click ok - I always get the error message: "The Dosbox executable...is missing or unreadable" + "The Dosbox configration file (dosbox.conf) …
