w0lf42 , a "synth" channel is a part of SOUND mixer and NOT MIDI ROUTING. If you turn MIDI volume on your ESS/YMF/SB16/AWE/AU8830/TB/etc it doesn't mean you switch on/off MPU401 channel on it. This mixer does the same too. It's SYNTH volume only. Its own synth! And this mixer does NOT any MIDI …
